St. Britto’s from Goa wins the Tata Tea Arsenal Soccer Stars National Tournament

St. Britto’s High School (Goa) won the Tata Tea Arsenal Soccer Stars national tournament 8-7 on penalty shoot outs, defeating Angel’s High School (Bangalore), in a very close contested finale at Howrah Municipal Stadium, Kolkata. Ms. Sangeeta Talwar, Executive Director-Marketing, Tata Tea Ltd handed over the trophy to the winning team. The trophy for the ‘Highest Goal Scorer’ was given to Myron Fernandes of St. Britto’s High School, Goa by legendry footballer, Chuni Goswami while the trophy for ‘Most Valuable Player’ was given to Karim Mistry of St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata by upcoming cricketer, Ranadab Bose. Jamshid Nassirir, Head Scout of the entire tournament, conferred the trophy for ‘Best Goalkeeper’ upon Avijeet Dey of ASC School. During the course of the competition, 30 young boys were selected to participate in a camp for 2 weeks in Kolkata, where Arsenal coaches will be training them. From the already selected, 15 promising hopefuls will be chosen further to receive training in Arsenal and participate in the Arsenal International Soccer Festival.
